After kicking off the Change the Rules National rallies in Perth last week and an enormous day of rallying in Melbourne, ACTU Secretary Sally McManus was back in Perth to visit workers across the city, including staff at Clontarf Aboriginal College.

IEU Speaks: Time to Overhaul Discrimination Exemptions

The Independent Education Union of Australia (IEUA) opposes discrimination based on a person’s sexuality.

The IEUA believes that current exemptions should be removed and that practices in faith-based schools, and indeed in any endeavour conducted for the public by faith-based organisations, should reflect community standards and expectations.

MEDIA RELEASE: IEUA Welcomes Labor Party Preschool Policy

MEDIA RELEASE

The IEUA has welcomed Labor’s $1.75 billion commitment to provide preschool education for around 700,000 Australian children in the two years prior to school. The IEUA represents teachers in schools and early childhood education.

The Labor Party has also committed to reinstating the $20 million dollars cut from the National Quality Agenda foreshadowed by the current Morrison government.
