Many of our delegates work in places that are about to enter into workload policy reviews and/or enterprise bargaining.

Your union is offering you the tools to enter those negotiations with the knowledge base and confidence to take on management.

In addition, this three-day course will also be covering the basics of what it means to be an effective delegate.

This course covers the role and responsibilities of a delegate working within our sector, including:

  • communicating effectively with union members, potential members and union staff;
  • empowering others by acknowledging their issues and being able to direct them to appropriate channels;
  • resolving workplace issues with the support of your union.

It is also an opportunity to meet other delegateshear their stories and develop a network to support each other.

It is really important to participate in the entire course which has been developed with the collaboration of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) and experienced delegates. This course incorporates the essentials – and more – of what is required in workplaces in their delegate roles.

Your union is here to support you, whether you’re a delegate in a school heading into bargaining or if you are dealing with the myriad of other workplace issues – or both!

In line with adhering to COVID-19 recommendations, we can facilitate up to 20 people in-house.

Morning tea and Lunch will be provided.
